Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” commands near-certain odds for the Billboard Hot 100 dated August 22 thanks to its unprecedented 17-week reign through the August 15 chart—the fourth-longest No. 1 run in history and a new record for a non-holiday song by a woman. Sustained dominance in streaming, radio airplay, and sales has kept the country-pop single ahead of all competition since February, with no major new releases or viral tracks positioned to break its momentum in the immediate tracking window. Traders price other titles at negligible levels because historical precedent and current metrics show few realistic paths for an upset unless an unforeseen blockbuster drops with massive first-week consumption or Langley’s song experiences a sudden decline in engagement. The next chart update remains the key near-term catalyst.
