Rod Wave’s newly released *Don’t Look Down* (August 28) anchors the 70% market-implied odds, as its fresh streaming and sales velocity align with the tracking week for the September 12 Billboard 200. The project’s 24-track length, limited features, and accompanying arena tour launch provide sustained momentum typical of his prior top-three debuts. Earlier 2026 leaders such as Olivia Rodrigo’s June release, Stray Kids’ *This & That*, and Ariana Grande’s *Petal* have already peaked or declined, leaving limited competition from K-pop EPs and country titles like Ella Langley’s *Dandelion*. Traders price in Rod Wave’s consistent hip-hop/R&B dominance while noting the narrow window before any surprise late surge.
