Multiple songs are trading in a tight 24–26% range for the #2 Spotify song the week of September 4, reflecting intense weekly competition driven by playlist placements, viral streaming surges, and cross-platform promotion. Older catalog tracks like Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” and Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat” benefit from nostalgia-driven playlisting and social media resurfacing, while newer or regional releases from KAROL G, Shakira, and BTS contend on current fan engagement and algorithmic boosts. Differentiating factors include daily stream velocity, featured placements on major editorial playlists, and any late-week promotional spikes that can shift momentum before the chart locks. Traders are watching real-time streaming data and artist announcements for the final edge.
