Recent polling indicates Democrats hold a substantial edge on the generic congressional ballot among young men aged 18-29, consistent with trader consensus favoring the party to win this demographic in the 2026 midterms. Surveys from Third Way, Yale, and others in late 2025 through mid-2026 show Democratic leads of 16-30 points among registered or likely young male voters, driven by declining Trump approval, economic dissatisfaction, and shifts among independents and some 2024 Trump supporters. Young men show lower midterm turnout enthusiasm compared to presidential cycles, while broader patterns among voters under 30 reinforce Democratic positioning. Republicans retain strength among subsets like young white men, but overall sentiment has moved toward Democrats since 2024.
