This market will resolve to “Yes” if Pete Hegseth ceases to be U.S. Secretary of Defense for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Pete Hegseth's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Pete Hegseth and the U.S. government; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Pete Hegseth remains actively engaged as Secretary of Defense in mid-2026, overseeing budget requests exceeding $1 trillion, congressional testimony on Iran-related funding and operations, and initiatives such as joint task forces targeting leaks and policy tours highlighting military capabilities. Senate confirmation occurred via tie-breaker in early 2025, and no formal resignation signals, removal proceedings, or administration statements indicate departure before year-end. Ongoing controversies, including senior military leadership changes and external criticism over defense management, have not produced the political pressure or internal shifts needed to alter his position by the December 31 deadline. The 75.5% trader consensus on "No" reflects this continuity amid ongoing policy execution and lack of decisive political catalysts for change.
