The tight clustering of implied probabilities around 42–48% for Vissel Kobe, FC Tokyo, Avispa Fukuoka, and several others reflects the evenly matched defensive depth across the J1 League early in the 2026-27 season. After the opening weeks, clubs such as Machida Zelvia, Kashiwa Reysol, and Kashima Antlers have posted strong starts with limited goals conceded, while Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Vissel Kobe continue to rely on organized backlines and experienced goalkeepers. Squad turnover through the transfer window, combined with scattered injury concerns in defense for teams like Gamba Osaka and Tokyo Verdy, plus the shift to an autumn-spring calendar with a winter break, leaves no side positioned as a clear favorite to finish with the most clean sheets over the full 38-match campaign.
