The 24-year-old Dutchman has posted strong recent results, including deep runs in major tournaments and competitive averages well above 90, while maintaining strong finishing and checkout percentages. In contrast, local qualifier Jonny Tata competes at a significantly lower tier, with limited PDC experience, early exits in prior editions of this event, and regional-level results that have yet to translate against elite opposition. The substantial gap in ranking, form, and proven performance on the international stage underpins trader consensus around van Veen’s dominant implied probability, though darts matches remain subject to variance in scoring bursts and leg-by-leg swings.
