Patriots roster stability and recent on-field dominance underpin their strong position as the consensus favorite to claim the 2026 season series. After finishing 14-3 in 2025 with a decisive 38-10 win over Miami in Week 18, New England enters camp as the AFC East frontrunner with a projected 9.5-win total, bolstered by quarterback Drake Maye’s development, offensive additions like A.J. Brown, and a defense that carried them deep into the prior postseason. Miami, by contrast, is undergoing a full rebuild following the firing of head coach Mike McDaniel and the hiring of Jeff Hafley, with a projected win total of just 3.5 and minimal expectations of reaching the playoffs. The two scheduled regular-season matchups—one at Hard Rock Stadium on November 1 and the return fixture later in the year—feature a wide gap in roster talent, coaching continuity, and recent momentum that traders have priced into the current implied probabilities.
