The Broncos and Chiefs are projected as the top two AFC West contenders heading into 2026, creating a closely contested season series where traders see a split as the most probable outcome. Denver enters with strong recent momentum after claiming the division in 2025 and favorable projections around 9–10 wins, bolstered by Bo Nix’s development and a relatively manageable schedule. Kansas City counters with Patrick Mahomes’ proven edge in divisional play despite some training-camp roster adjustments and injury notes. The Week 1 Monday Night matchup at Arrowhead and the return game at Empower Field set up classic home/away balance, with historical trends and current roster health supporting the market’s emphasis on even results over a sweep by either side.
