The 2026 NFL regular season opens with broad parity across contenders, as preseason projections and executive rankings show no team separating clearly from the pack in expected wins or roster strength. The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks anchor the NFC West with elite defensive additions like Myles Garrett and returning championship pedigree, while AFC frontrunners such as the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots feature strong quarterback play and balanced units after recent roster moves. Multiple clubs project in the 10-12 win range, with schedule difficulty, injury recoveries, and divisional races adding volatility. Recent training camp and exhibition results reinforced roster stability without producing a runaway favorite, leaving trader consensus evenly distributed among a wide field where small edges in health or momentum could decide the top record.
