This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 American League Rookie of the Year award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Kevin McGonigle of the Detroit Tigers holds an overwhelming lead in the AL Rookie of the Year market due to his elite production through roughly 116 games in 2026. The 21-year-old shortstop has posted a .286/.391/.428 slash line with 12 home runs, 48 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, and a league-leading 5.4–5.6 WAR among rookies, while maintaining more walks than strikeouts and an on-base percentage near .393. He earned All-Star honors and has topped MLB.com expert polls since June, widening his margin with consistent output at a premium defensive position. Murakami and other contenders trail significantly in both statistical measures and voter support. A late-season injury, sharp statistical regression, or unexpected surge from a challenger could narrow the gap, though McGonigle’s established edge leaves limited realistic paths for an upset.
