**Soto holds a commanding 63-to-42 edge in walks through mid-August despite Judge’s higher per-game rate, driven primarily by Soto’s 84 games played versus Judge’s 59.** Judge has missed nearly three months with a right rib stress fracture, was recently cleared only for light rehab, and faces an uncertain return that could leave him with few or no additional plate appearances. Soto, sidelined since late July with a Grade 2 left calf strain, is expected back in September and will accumulate substantial extra opportunities even if both players finish the season. Historical tendencies reinforce the gap: Soto’s patient approach consistently produces elite walk totals, while Judge’s injury timeline sharply limits his remaining volume. The 98% trader consensus reflects this combination of current lead and projected playing-time disparity. Realistic shifts remain possible only if Judge returns for an extended September stretch while Soto misses significant time or posts an atypically low walk rate, though both outcomes appear improbable given medical timelines and established profiles.
