The tight clustering of implied probabilities around 46-49% for multiple constructors in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix fastest lap market reflects the leveling effect of the 2026 power unit and active aero regulations, which have reduced historical performance gaps across the grid. Baku's long straights and narrow, wall-lined sections amplify the role of reliability, traffic management, and safety car timing rather than pure single-lap speed, while recent form shows Mercedes and Ferrari-powered entries like Cadillac posting competitive long-run pace in prior rounds. No team has established clear supremacy in qualifying or race-trim one-lap efforts under the revised rules, and the circuit's history of chaotic outcomes further compresses expectations for any single constructor to claim the fastest lap with high consistency.
