Sydney’s superior depth in the midfield and forward lines, stronger roster health, and favorable head-to-head record against the Bombers underpin the overwhelming trader consensus at 97.8% implied probability for a Swans win at the MCG. Essendon’s persistent injury concerns, including long-term absences like Nic Martin, have hampered their ability to compete in contested possessions and maintain defensive structure. Late team-sheet changes, variable weather conditions affecting contested ball, or an uncommon lapse in Sydney’s defensive setup remain the main variables that could still influence the outcome.
