In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by 2. Bundesliga as finishing in third place. If multiple teams are officially awarded third place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 3rd in the 2026-27 2. Bundesliga season, the market will resolve to "No". If the 2026-27 2. Bundesliga season is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 3rd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source will be official information from 2. Bundesliga. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The 2026-27 2. Bundesliga campaign opened with a wide-open race for third place and the promotion playoff spot, as recently relegated sides like VfL Wolfsburg, 1. FC Heidenheim, and FC St. Pauli join established clubs such as Hertha BSC, 1. FC Nürnberg, and Hannover 96. Early results show Nürnberg and Hertha atop the table after two matchdays, but the depth of squads with Bundesliga experience, solid pre-season recruitment, and balanced home/away records keeps implied probabilities clustered near 50% across most contenders. Factors like rest advantages, travel in the compact league, and the typical volatility of promotion chases further compress the field, with no single team pulling clear after the opening fixtures.
