Nedunchezhiyan and Wang hold the edge in the ATP Challenger Astana doubles semifinal due to Nedunchezhiyan’s proven doubles pedigree, including a career-high ranking of 64 and multiple pro titles, paired with strong recent form that carried them past earlier-round opponents on the hard courts. The Japanese duo of Ichikawa and Imamura, ranked lower individually with limited doubles titles, have shown competitive results in lower-level events but face a steeper challenge against a more seasoned pairing. Hard-court conditions and the short turnaround in the draw favor teams with established synergy and match fitness, though upsets remain possible in Challenger-level doubles where momentum can shift quickly.
