Andris Kulbergs holds the leading position in the market at 78% as the incumbent prime minister heading a four-party center-right coalition formed in late May 2026 after the prior government collapsed over defense lapses tied to stray drone incidents. The coalition, which includes United List, New Unity, National Alliance, and Union of Greens and Farmers, commands a parliamentary majority and has prioritized border security, air defenses, and election preparations ahead of the October 3 vote. Kulbergs’s visibility has risen through public warnings about Russian hybrid threats and infrastructure protection, aligning with trader focus on continuity in a security-dominated campaign. Lower-priced alternatives such as Jūlija Stepaņenko and Ainārs Šlesers reflect opposition party leaders with narrower support bases, while numerous 50% entries appear to represent low-probability or speculative candidates. The election outcome will determine the next government formation and prime ministerial appointment.
