The 2026 ACC passing touchdowns race remains tightly bunched early in the season because a deep group of experienced and emerging quarterbacks operates behind strong supporting casts and favorable schemes. Darian Mensah’s transfer to Miami and his five-touchdown Week 1 debut against Stanford reinforce his preseason edge, yet peers such as Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele at Cal, CJ Bailey at NC State, Kevin Jennings at SMU, and Steve Angeli at Syracuse posted comparable prior production or strong openers. Additional contenders including Mason Heintschel at Pitt, Christopher Vizzina at Clemson, and several transfers or rising sophomores bring similar arm talent, mobility, and target depth, while conference-wide passing volume and matchup variability prevent any single signal-caller from separating quickly. Trader consensus therefore assigns near-even implied probabilities across the field until sustained volume and efficiency trends emerge over multiple weeks.
