SC Freiburg enters the 2026/27 Bundesliga campaign as the market favorite for the UEFA Conference League qualification spot due to strong squad continuity, proven European experience from reaching the prior Europa League final, and a seventh-place finish that secured the berth under DFB-Pokal redistribution rules. Mid-table sides such as Eintracht Frankfurt, TSG Hoffenheim, and Borussia Mönchengladbach feature as main challengers on the strength of attacking depth, recent head-to-head results, and consistent domestic form. Early-season factors including fixture congestion, transfer activity, and the potential for an extra European spot via UEFA coefficients could shift positioning, while the wisdom of crowds reflected in current pricing accounts for the narrow margins typical among teams clustered between fifth and eighth in the table.
