Several Reykjavík-area clubs and established sides remain in contention for second place in the ongoing 2026 Besta deild karla campaign, with Víkingur Reykjavík holding a clear lead at the top. Current table positioning shows KR Reykjavík, Fram, Breiðablik, and Valur clustered within striking distance of one another on points after roughly 18 matches, while ÍA Akranes, FH, Stjarnan, and others sit just behind with comparable goal differences and recent results. Mid-season form swings, home/away splits, and fixture congestion in the championship round have kept implied probabilities tightly grouped, as traders weigh each club’s attacking output and defensive resilience against a schedule that still includes direct head-to-head clashes. The absence of any dominant second-place frontrunner has produced a consensus view that multiple teams retain realistic paths to the runner-up spot depending on late-season momentum and results in the remaining rounds.
