Kai-I Wang faces Ryota Tanuma in the first round of the ITF M25 Taipei 2 on hard courts, with no prior head-to-head meetings between the players. The 22-year-old Taiwanese Wang holds a slight local advantage in his home country but enters off a straight-sets loss in the preceding Taipei event and sits near the 1544 ranking mark. Tanuma, the 30-year-old Japanese veteran ranked around 1316, brings marginally stronger recent win percentages at the ITF level, though often against lower-caliber opponents, and has compiled most of his hard-court results in similar $10K–$25K events. Surface familiarity and current form trends shape trader consensus more than any single injury or scheduling factor.
