Henry Bernet, the 19-year-old Swiss ranked around No. 423, faces 31-year-old Italian Stefano Napolitano (No. 228) in the first round of the 2026 Como Lake Challenger on outdoor red clay. Napolitano holds the edge in ranking, experience, and clay-court pedigree, with a career-high of No. 121 and multiple Challenger titles, though his recent form includes mixed results and early exits. Bernet has posted strong recent wins on clay at ITF and lower-level events, demonstrating improved consistency and a solid serve-return game. The surface favors baseline rallies where Napolitano’s height and prior results provide an advantage, while Bernet’s youth and momentum from strong summer performances create realistic upset potential in this closely matched opener.
