**Yanaki Milev and Stefan Popovic enter this Plovdiv Challenger first-round doubles matchup as the clear favorites against wild-card juniors Kaloyan Shikov and Daniel Spasov.** Milev, a Bulgarian Davis Cup regular with ATP Challenger and ITF experience, pairs regularly with the Serbian Popovic; their tandem reached an ITF final earlier in 2026 and posted strong results in Antalya and other clay events. The #4 seeds benefit from professional-level consistency, better serve-return combinations, and recent match play on similar surfaces. Shikov (born 2009) has posted solid junior results, including ITF J30 titles, but lacks senior-level doubles seasoning, while Spasov’s profile is similarly developmental. Home wild-card status and local support provide some motivation, yet the experience gap and seeding point to a decisive edge for the established pair in best-of-three sets on clay.
